Shopfront Renewal Program

The Shopfront Renewal Program helps commercial property owners promote their available retail spaces to potential tenants. This exciting initiative provides eligible shopfronts with vibrant vinyl decals for display on windows, giving your property for lease a fresh, eye-catching look. With these attractive window decals, your property will not only stand out on the street but also transform the shopfront into a focal point of opportunity for tenants!

Is your shopfront eligible?

To qualify for a window decal, your property must have been vacant for at least 6 weeks and be: 

  • currently advertised for lease 
  • a suitable retail shopfront for vinyl decals, for example, have glass windows 
  • located in City of Moreton Bay local government area
  • at ground-level and street-facing, with direct customer access from the street, or an outdoor pedestrian mall (excludes shopping centres or indoor malls).

Note, the application form will require you to supply a photo of the front windows of the retail space and a photo showing the windowsill or corner.

 What happens next?

Once your expression of interest has been received, Council will review it within 5 business days and advise in writing if it was successful. Applicants that qualify will be connected with Council's decal provider who will complete installation of the vinyl window decal within 7-10 days. Included in this free service is:

  • the removal of existing signage or decals (within reason)
  • installation of the decal design of choice
  • the removal of the decal once the property has be leased. 

Decal removal must be completed by 30 June 2026 or the removal costs will not be covered under the program. If you have any questions, contact Council by emailing economic@moretonbay.qld.gov.au
