Designing murals for public spaces workshop in North Lakes

Next date: Saturday, 05 July 2025 | 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM

Join us for a free workshop on designing murals at North Lakes Community Centre.

This workshop is part of Council's exciting Art At Large Murals program, creating public art opportunities for artists. We commission professional artists to create temporary public artworks on Council-owned infrastructure.

You'll learn alongside artists Jordan Bruce and Dylan Bolger about how to create large-scale artworks. They'll teach you the principles of creating artwork for public spaces. You will then get creative in the fun art-focused workshop, learning topics such as:

  • What to consider when creating artwork for the public realm.
  • How the surrounding environment might inform your creative concepts.
  • Helpful methods on how to translate your concepts from small to large scale.
  • Practical hands-on techniques.

You'll have access to materials and refreshments during this workshop.

For aspiring large-scale muralists and soon-to-be Art At Large artists, this is an event you won't want to miss!

The venue is wheelchair accessible. If you need any further assistance, contact the Cultural Activation team at cultural.activation@moretonbay.qld.gov.au.
