Licenses are valid for 12 months from 1 October until 30 September each year and are renewed annually. An annual licence fee is applicable.
All Personal Appearance Services businesses are required to comply with the Public Health (Infection Control for Personal Appearance Services) Act 2003 and demonstrate that they are taking all reasonable precautions and care to minimise the risk of infection to their clients.

Council carries out inspections of licensed premises to ensure that operators comply with the Public Health (Infection Control for Personal Appearance Services) Act 2003.
