Community facilities grant

A Community organisation that applies for funding must meet the following criteria:

• be based on the Moreton Bay region and/or can demonstrate that the proposed project will benefit residents of the Moreton Bay region
• have $20 million public liability insurance if required by Council
• have no overdue City of Moreton Bay grant acquittals.

Individuals are not eligible to apply for funding.

Unincorporated community groups may apply through an auspice which is able to accept legal and financial responsibility for the project.

Retrospective funding of projects is not available. 

The following documentation is required for all Community Facilities grant applications:

• current public liability certificate of insurance
• most recent audited or verified financial statements
• quotes for each grant expenditure item
• land owners consent.

The following additional documents may also be required:

• proof of not-for-profit status
• Improvement Works Application (IWA) letter of authority
• construction plans and site maps
• written confirmation from auspicing organisation.

Applications progress through the following stages:

1. Eligibility review
2. Merit assessment
3. Council endorsement
4. Applicants notified approximately seven weeks after closing date.
