Council is holding a free forum for sporting clubs and community organisations to learn more about environmental sustainability.

The forum

The forum comprises two 45 to 60 minute sessions focussing on the following:

Council - Waste management

  • Rethink waste and recycling in your club or community group
  • Waste hierarchy strategies - Avoid, reduce and reuse are more important than recycling
  • Recycling - what's allowed in the yellow bin and why?
  • Coping with the single use plastic ban and getting prepared for more change
  • Opportunities for recovery and recycling and how it can benefit your organisation
  • Making and choosing reusable or compostable fundraising and promotional items.

ecoBiz - Interested in reducing your energy, water and waste costs?

  • Find out about the free ecoBiz program that helps hundreds of Queensland businesses and organisations reduce their energy, water and waste bills
  • How your sporting club or community group can save money by implementing sustainable practices
  • What you organisation can do today to improve sustainability.

Session times

Two sessions will be held:

  • Wednesday 13 October 2021 from 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM at South Pine Sports Complex Indoor Centre
  • Wednesday 20 October 2021 from 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM at Caboolture Hub Seminar Rooms.


Joining livestream will be available for both sessions. The livestream will occur through Microsoft Teams. A link to access the stream will be sent via email to those registered for this option.
