Celebrity chef, Miguel Maestre has officially launched the Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival, South East Queensland’s largest, tastiest and most delicious celebration of food.

Over three scrumptious days (4-6 August 2023), more than 15,000 people are expected visit the festival precinct, watch live cooking demonstrations, rub-shoulders with celebrity chefs, listen to live music and sample the delights of Moreton Bay’s amazing food bowl.

Festival headliner, Miguel Maestre said he can’t wait to introduce South East Queensland to the joys of Spanish food.

“My passion is incorporating Spanish ingredients and cooking styles into Australian menus, and that’s exactly what I’ll be showcasing throughout the festival,” Mr Maestre said.

“Last year’s event was outrageous fun and I can’t wait to make it bigger, better and bolder in August. It’s going to be spectacular.”

Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor, Cr Peter Flannery, said the Food + Wine Festival is the number one foodie destination on the culinary calendar.

“We have Australia’s best produce and the nation’s most daring talent,” Cr Flannery said.

“The world-famous Food + Wine Festival will be a feast for the senses.

“Moreton Bay’s subtropical climate offers a bounty of produce, from pineapples and raspberries to shellfish and beef and they will all be showcased by Australia’s best chefs over three amazing days.”

Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism CEO, Shane Newcombe, said the who’s who of Australia’s celebrity chefs will be cooking up a storm at the festival.

“In addition to Miguel Maestre, Poh Ling Yeow, Alastair McLeod, Dominique Rizzo and Kim McCosker will be making tastebuds salivate,” Mr Newcombe said

“The three-day Food + Wine Festival is Moreton Bay on a plate, and it’s going to be delicious.

“The festival site will span a kilometre along the Woody Point foreshore, include six precincts, countless experiences, dozens of masterclasses and live music.”

The three-day Moreton Bay Food + Wine Feastival starts on 4 August at Apex Park at Woody Point.
