Deception Bay community facility redevelopment

Deception Bay Community Facilities artist's impression

Demolition of the former DPI buildings was completed last year and now Council is ready to undertake nearly $2.3 million in works to truly transform the site into a leisure precinct.

The project site is the former DPI Fisheries site at Joseph Crescent, Deception Bay.

The purpose of the project is to create a hub for the Deception Bay community, with a playground, kiosk, meeting areas and indigenous displays.

Broken into stages, the first stage will include construction of a new community facility with a meeting space, kitchenette, amenities block, pathways and off-street car parks.

Stage 2 of the site development includes construction of new park infrastructure including pathways, seating nodes, refurbishment of an existing storage shed, play equipment, outdoor gathering spaces, regeneration planting and amenity landscaping.

The concept plans and images are for public information only. The design plans form part of a Development Application which will be lodged later this year.
