Status update
At its General Meeting on 9 September 2026, Council decided to adopt Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) Amendment No. 2, (LGIP amendment). This LGIP amendment commenced on 11 September 2026, creating version 8 of the planning scheme.
From Version 7.1 onwards, you can view and download superseded and historic versions of our planning scheme via our online eScheme viewer. Select the ‘change’ button from the top left navigation panel of the eScheme viewer to access past versions of the planning scheme. You can download the code compliance templates for relevant scheme sections within the superseded version of the scheme.

Planning scheme document
The MBRC Planning Scheme was adopted by Council on 24 November 2015 and commenced on Monday, 1 February 2016. More information about how to read and apply the planning scheme and how it works is provided in the How to read a planning scheme information sheet(PDF, 723KB).
The planning scheme is provided as an eScheme, intended to be used in electronic form, which allows you to navigate around the document using the menu on the left. The various parts of the planning scheme document are also available to download as PDF files from within the eScheme online viewer.
