Artwork on John Scott Park footpaths

Until spring, John Scott Park will come alive with vibrant splashes of colour thanks to a series of public art installations.

Under the Art At Large program, Council has commissioned 3 talented artists. They will transform 3 separate sections of concrete footpath into large‑scale vinyl artworks. These temporary artworks will brighten the park for six months, beginning 6 March 2026.

These artworks aren’t meant to just decorate the space. They invite park-users to pause and rediscover the familiar through the lens of creativity. Each artist took inspiration from the park’s natural beauty and the many ways people use this community space.

Stretching 15 metres along the pathway, each installation will spark moments of wonder and joy in one of Samford’s favourite recreational hubs.

Locals and visitors alike will experience a fresh, creative encounter on every visit. So next time you’re in John Scott Park, look down, you might find a little magic on the path ahead.

These public art commissions are part of the Art At Large program. This initiative focuses on showcasing art in public spaces. You can view these artworks until October 2026.
