Council's customer service centres will be closed from 12:00 PM on Wednesday, 24 December, reopening on Monday, 5 January 2026 at 8:30 AM.
Opposite Sylvan Beach is the shady, seaside retreat Crest Park.
Tall, paperbark trees surround the park, offering sun-safe spots to watch boats trawl through the inlet.
Children can play in the partly enclosed sandpit or enjoy the kids' playground with its fun climbing features and slides.
If they prefer some friendly competition, they can take on friends at the half basketball court. There's plenty of green space to rally a team together for a casual game of football or to lie a blanket down and lounge beside the water.
Once you're hungry, head to the electric barbecues and picnic tables for a hot lunch beneath the shady trees. If you want to work up an appetite and get your steps in, there's a fish and chip store near the pontoon.
Other park facilities include rubbish bins, beach access and water fountains.
