Sylvan Beach Esplanade

Sylvan Beach Esplanade is a large recreational area along the Bellara foreshore. It stretches from the Bribie Island Bridge to Sunset Park at Banksia Beach. Visitors can enjoy a range of amenities and activities along this stunning esplanade.

At the southern end is Bribie Island Lions Park, featuring a playground with a small adventure fort, slide, swings, and rockers. Bench seating and shaded picnic tables make it a relaxing spot for parents and carers. Close by you'll find a fenced off-leash area where dogs can run freely and socialise. Alternatively, dogs can be exercised on a leash at the Bellara dog on-leash beach area.

The southern section is also the starting point of the SS Koopa Trail parkrun. The run is a free community event held every Saturday at 7:00 AM .

The heart of the esplanade is home to the Volunteer Marine Rescue facility. This central area has a modern concrete public boat ramp where boaters can launch their vessels into the passage. Here, you'll also find a fishing and mooring pontoon, a fish-cleaning table, cafés, restaurants, and ample trailer parking.

At the northern end is a second playground and the Sylvan Beach Boardwalk. The boardwalk is a well-maintained wooden walkway and platform that extends over the water at high tide.

A wide concrete path runs the full length of the esplanade, ideal for walking, jogging, or cycling. You can reach Sylvan Beach from several spots along the esplanade. The beach is perfect for a swim in the calm waters of the passage or a relaxing fishing session.

There are public toilets, electric barbecues, bench seating, and picnic tables scattered throughout the park.

The esplanade is teeming with native trees that provide natural shade and a haven for birds. With its western vantage point and views of the Glass House Mountains, it's a perfect spot to watch the sunset over the passage. Sylvan Beach Esplanade truly captures the charm and tranquillity of Bribie Island living.
