Samsonvale and Districts Public Hall is a beautiful timber hall located in picturesque Mount Samson. The venue is located on the Greensill Park grounds amongst a peaceful rural setting, making it an ideal location for weddings and events. 

The facility features a wrap-around verandah and fairy lights over the exposed timber beams in the ceiling. The hall is 23.5 metres x 12.5 metres with a 21 metre x 3 metre stage.

The venue is a self-service model: all hirers are responsible for set-up/pack-down and cleaning of the venue before the conclusion of the hire.

The hall has a capacity of 140 people.

Samsonvale and Districts Public Hall is managed by the Samsonvale and District Public Hall Inc. on behalf of Council.

Fees and charges

Hourly, half day and daily rates are available.

Casual rates $34.00 per hour and $280.00 per day.

Some events and high-risk activities, i.e. parties where alcohol is served, will require payment of a refundable bond. In some instances, security may also be required as a condition of the booking and will be determined by hall management.

Restrictions

  • Hirers are not permitted to sleep in the venue overnight
  • Equipment may be left in the venue if the hirer has a booking for the following day, or by arrangement with hall management
  • Smoking is not permitted in, or within 5 metres of, Council venues, except for designated smoking areas
  • The use of open flames including but not limited to candles, lanterns or smoke machine is prohibited
  • Decorative items such as glitter, rice, rose petals, sand or confetti is not permitted
  • Decorations must not be affixed in any way that may cause damage; this includes, but is not limited to sticky tape, pins or tacks
  • Animals with the exception of assistance animals, are not permitted in council venues without Council approval

Venue inspections

Hall management provide prospective hirers the opportunity to view the hall prior to booking. Inspections are by appointment only and are held once a week in the afternoon.
