John Naumann Hall is conveniently situated next to the Deception Bay sports fields. Community tennis courts and picnic shelter with BBQ compliment this venue.

The hall is 25.4 metres x 9.1 metres with a 9.1 metre x 3.8 metre stage and is within walking distance to shops and public transport making it ideal for community and private gatherings.

The venue is a self-service model: all hirers are responsible for set-up / pack-down and cleaning of the venue before the conclusion of hire.


The hall has a capacity of 100 people.


John Naumann Hall has continuous pathway and ramp from the car park to the front entry door.

Designated accessible parking bays are located in the car park with provision for drop off near the access ramp.

An internal accessible toilet is located in the hall.

John Naumann Hall is managed by the Lions Club of Deception Bay Inc. on behalf of council.

  • 20 Folding rectangular tables on trolleys (1830 mm x 760 mm)
  • 100 stacking chairs.

Kitchen inclusions:

  • commercial oven with 6 hot plates

  • food warmer.

Bar inclusions:

  • double door drinks fridge.

Fees and charges

Hourly and daily rates are available with discounts for not-for-profit organisations and regular hirer bookings.

Casual rates $25.50 per hour and $255.00 per day, $17.80 per hour not-for-profit.

Some events and high-risk activities, i.e. parties where alcohol is served, will require payment of a refundable bond. In some instances, security may also be required as a condition of the booking and will be determined by hall management.


  • Hirers are not permitted to sleep in the venue overnight, however, equipment may be left in the venue if the hirer has a booking for the following day by arrangement with Hall Management
  • Smoking is prohibited in, and within 5 metres of Council venues, except for designated smoking areas
  • The use of open flames including but not limited to candles, lanterns or smoke machines is prohibited
  • Decorative items such as glitter, rice, sand or confetti is not permitted
  • Decorations must not be affixed in any way that may cause damage; this includes, but is not limited to sticky tape, pins or tacks
  • Animals, with the exception of assistance animals, are not permitted in council venues without prior approval.

Venue inspections

Hall Management provide prospective hirers the opportunity to view the hall prior to booking. Inspections are by appointment only and depend upon the availability of the venue.
