Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) Amendment No. 2

Adoption of Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) Amendment No. 2 to the Moreton Bay Regional Council Planning Scheme 2016.

Notice is hereby given in accordance with the requirements of section 21 (c) of the Planning Act 2016, Chapter 5, Part 3 and Schedule 5 section 6 and 7 of the Minister’s Guidelines and Rules that City of Moreton Bay has adopted the “Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) Amendment No. 2” to the Moreton Bay Regional Council Planning Scheme 2016 on 9 September 2026.

This amendment to the planning scheme came into effect on 11 September 2026.

The adopted LGIP amendment applies to the whole of the local government area and updates the planning scheme to reflect contemporary trunk infrastructure planning completed since 21 December 2021.

The overall purpose and general effect of the adopted amendment is to:

  • Reflect Council’s commitment to maintain the planning scheme as a “living document” for its 10-year projected life, specifically the LGIP component which is required by legislation to be reviewed every 5 years;
  • Integrate trunk infrastructure network planning undertaken since December 2021;
  • Implement Council’s resolution of 29 June 2022 to make a LGIP amendment following the outcomes of the 2022 LGIP review;
  • Support the operational efficiency of the planning scheme and currency of the associated infrastructure planning regime;
  • Ensure all projects proposed to be newly included, or amended, are financially sustainable and align with Council’s Long Term Financial Forecast; and
  • Reflect any State Government requirements for LGIPs.
