City of Moreton Bay has taken immediate steps in response to the national recall of certain coloured sand products. Designated Council waste facilities are managing the disposal of the recalled sand products.

Council's customer service centres will be closed from 12:00 PM on Wednesday, 24 December, reopening on Monday, 5 January 2026 at 8:30 AM.
Apex Park in Deception Bay is a green escape across from the foreshore.
This spacious park features a playground set in a sandpit, with tall shady gum trees surrounding the area. With a large open green space, it's easy to find a spot and enjoy the scenery.
Bring a packed lunch and use our barbecue facilities and sheltered picnic tables.
Additional facilities include a toilet block, water fountain and plenty of parking.
If your furry friend wants to join, they can run around on the nearby Deception Bay foreshore dog beach.
This park has a bookable event area. It's a large grassed, partly enclosed park on a corner block. The area is 50 metres by 35 metres.
