Council is upgrading the intersection on Henzell Road, Toohey Street and Watt Street in Caboolture.
The project began after community feedback about traffic delays during peak hours. There is also a need to improve safety for people walking and riding bikes. This is especially important where the Caboolture to Wamuran Rail Trail crosses Henzell Road.
To address these concerns, Council will remove the roundabout and build a signalised intersection. This upgrade will help traffic flow more smoothly and reduce wait times during busy periods. It will also make it safer and easier for everyone to cross the road.
Key project features:
- Signalised intersection: Traffic lights will replace the roundabout to better manage traffic and improve safety.
- Increased capacity: Roads leading into the intersection will be widened to add turning lanes.
- Active transport: New on-road bike lanes will be added, and footpaths will be widened.
- Improved safety: New pedestrian crossings will be built, with safer links to the Rail Trail.
- Infrastructure upgrades: Landscaping and drainage works will also be completed.
Service relocations have begun onsite and are scheduled to be completed early 2027. Construction of the intersection is scheduled to begin thereafter in 2027.
