Global examples show that strong local identity can change perceptions and help economies grow. Campaigns such as New York’s enduring I Love NY, London’s united economic identity, and Dubai’s expos have helped attract visitors and investment.
Research shows that small improvements in how a city’s businesses are seen can lead to increases in:
- tourism revenue of up to 17%
- foreign investment of up to 21%
- local incomes of up to 24%.

Helpful facts about City of Moreton Bay
When speaking positively about our city, you may wish to highlight:
- City of Moreton Bay is working towards a bigger, bolder, brighter economy, with an ambition of a $40 billion economy and 100,000 new jobs.
- Tourism continues to grow, with 4.6 million annual visitors and around $1.1 billion in visitor spending.
- Food and agribusiness is a key industry, with around 57% of Queensland’s strawberries grown in City of Moreton Bay.
- Advanced manufacturing employs 10,399 people and generates about $1.53 billion in export sales.
- Knowledge and innovation-based businesses are a core strength, including Moreton Bay Central in Petrie, which is projected to deliver $813 million annually and more than 8,600 jobs when complete.
