Council’s customer service centres will close from 5:00 PM, Friday 2 October for the King's Birthday public holiday. They will reopen on Tuesday 6 October at 8:30 AM.
On 2 August 2024, the Deputy Premier and Minister for Economic Development Queensland declared the Waraba Priority Development Area (PDA). This was done under the Economic Development Act 2012.

Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) is taking responsibility for assessing development applications.
In relation to the changes to Development Assessment delegation, EDQ and Council are committed to supporting applicants through the transition. They aim to ensure a seamless process for assessment and decision-making arrangements.
Council and EDQ are working on a transition process. During this time, Council will continue working on existing applications currently under assessment. As Council progresses with these existing assessments, Council will liaise closely with EDQ on any decisions.
