Creative workshop with a mural artist: Rothwell Community Hall
A colourful new mural is coming to the waterfront at Newport, and you're invited to be part of it!
In 2026, City of Moreton Bay will be transforming a section of the footpath near The Blue Park through its Art At Large program.
Before the painting begins, we're hosting a free creative workshop with the mural artist, Hilary Coulter, and you're invited to join.
Hilary is a textile artist and painter from Central Queensland. Her artwork explores the application of contemporary embroidery techniques to represent still life in colourful and tactile scenes.
At the workshop, you’ll meet Hilary, hear about her creative journey, and learn how murals are made. You’ll also take part in a fun, hands-on art activity and have the chance to share your own stories, ideas, and memories of the Newport foreshore.
This is a great way to help shape a public artwork that reflects the local community. Your voice, your experiences, and your creativity could help inspire the final design.
Everyone is welcome, so bring your friends or your family along for the fun. No art experience needed! Light refreshments will be provided.
Join us in celebrating what makes Newport special through art.
