City of Moreton Bay has taken immediate steps in response to the national recall of certain coloured sand products. Designated Council waste facilities are managing the disposal of the recalled sand products.

Council's customer service centres will be closed from 12:00 PM on Wednesday, 24 December, reopening on Monday, 5 January 2026 at 8:30 AM.
Mungarra Reserve is a vast green space beside the North Pine River in Petrie with much to enjoy.
For the sports-minded, there's plenty to choose from throughout the park. The tree-lined walking and cycling trails weave through the park and dotted along the pathways are stationary fitness equipment.
