Let your creativity flow! Explore special paper, watercolour pencils and mixed media through this art workshop. Stephen Newton will guide you in creating your own artwork inspired by water and nature.
This workshop encourages creativity and personal expression. You'll explore a variety of art materials and create your own artwork. Try illustration, still life, pattern making and abstraction.
This workshop is suitable for beginners through to established artists. You'll work at your own pace and receive guidance from a practising artist. All materials and equipment are provided.
Stephen Newton has been a Brisbane-based artist and educator for over 40 years.
He has exhibited his sculpture and works on paper in Australia and abroad. His artwork is also held in the Queensland Art Gallery permanent collection.
Stephen holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Fine Art and a Graduate Diploma in Teaching. He also holds a Masters degree of Arts specialising in Visual Art and a PhD focusing on Visual Art/Sculpture.
He has designed, fabricated and installed large-scale public art projects in:
Stephen enjoys collaboration and working with public, private and First Nations stakeholders to develop artistic projects that celebrate place, community and the environment.
