Ready to discover how volunteers protect Bribie’s nesting turtles?

Discover the dedicated work of Bribie Island Turtle Trackers volunteers, who help monitor and protect endangered loggerhead and green turtles. This presentation explores the history of the conservation program, celebrating the hard-earned successes that have helped shape the important work being done today.

Attendees will gain insight into modern volunteer activities, which go far beyond regular beach monitoring. These include rapid responding to stranded turtles and running community awareness programs. The session will also explore key challenges for the future, including the impact of increasing beach traffic, natural predators and limited regulatory enforcement on nesting habitats, and discuss what needs to be done to help ensure the survival of these species.
