What is a Death Cafe? It probably sounds like some weird space filled with witches and dark, depressing conversations, perhaps with a lot of sadness and tears. A death cafe is simply a safe space for people to come together and talk about anything related to death, dying, our own mortality, advanced life care planning and sometimes touched with a little grief. It's not a counselling space. It's not a grief group. It's not a dark, doomfully, witchy gathering with voodoo dolls and brooms It's a welcoming space for people to meet and connect. Let's face it, too many people are not comfortable talking about death, planning their own death or wanting to know more about the life options available to them. There are so many ways to do death and farewells. You can design or create anything that aligns with your personality and your wishes. You need to talk about it and don't leave your loved ones clueless and guessing! Your own mortality is worth the time and energy!
