Can we really call Bribie Island a sanctuary? Bribie Island’s greeting sign welcomes visitors to a ‘flora and fauna sanctuary’, but is this fact or fantasy?

Join us for an evening under the stars for the opening night of the Bribie Island Nature Festival and meet some of our featured artists and scientists who're ready for the exciting weekend ahead.

Through a dynamic mix of scientific research and artistic perspectives, we’ll explore the health of Bribie’s natural environment. We’ll celebrate the triumphs, from dedicated turtle conservation efforts to important habitat restoration, while also looking at the challenges. These include the impact of unrestricted recreational four-wheel driving on our shorelines and the spread of invasive species from the neighbouring pine plantation into the national park. Come and connect with the experts and visionaries helping to shape the future of our unique island sanctuary.

Keep the lively discussion going afterwards at a post-event reception.
