New park at Billabong Place | Deception Bay

We are adding more play options for Deception Bay residents at Billabong Place. As our community grows, we need more spaces to stay active, healthy, and connected. This new nature-themed park will be the perfect place for fun, relaxation, and outdoor adventures with family and friends. 

New park key features 

• A play tower for climbing and exploring. 
• Swings with inclusive access.  
• Nature-themed playground with stepping logs and a log cubby. 
• Planting to support local wildlife. 
• An accessible entry path and new sandstone wall. 
• Seating areas and a bubbler for comfort and convenience.

This project supports our growing communities in Deception Bay, giving residents a space to meet and create memories. 

Community consultation

In July 2022, residents were informed about the project through a local mail out and door knocking. Based on community feedback, Council engaged a consultant to design a park that blends seamlessly with nature, preserving existing trees to maximise natural shade. 

Construction days and times

Council works will occur between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM Monday to Friday, from early May.
