Knowledge, innovation and entrepreneurship is a priority industry for building a stronger, future focused City of Moreton Bay. It is one of the four pillars of Our City’s Economic Strategy 2020–2041. This strategy guides how we create a bigger, bolder and brighter future for the community.

Council is taking practical steps to help position City of Moreton Bay as a top 10 innovation hub through the Knowledge, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Industry Plan 2024–2028. This includes:

Innovate Moreton Bay program

Council has invested in the Innovate Moreton Bay program for more than 7 years, partnering with Creative HQ since 2025 to deliver the program.

Innovate Moreton Bay provides specialised services and dedicated support for founders, entrepreneurs and business leaders.

It is led by a local Innovation Director and supported by Creative HQ’s Wellington-based expert team. Learn more about Creative HQ

Become a mentor

We are recruiting mentors all year round to help us deliver programs and initiatives. 

Mentors are: 

  • leaders in their field who want to give back to their community 
  • skilled experts who want to lend a hand to others
  • imaginative and inspirational 
  • willing to help build a newcomer's confidence as they plunge into an exciting future.

In return, you will benefit from: 

  • developing your own mentoring, communication and leadership skills
  • enhancing your cross-cultural competence by working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • improving your understanding of the issues and barriers experienced by newcomers in Moreton Bay
  • networking opportunities with other like-minded individuals and mentors.
