Clean-up works following the recent severe storms are still underway. Due to the extent of the damage, recovery will take several months. Please exercise caution when visiting impacted areas. Thank you for your patience as crews work hard to restore these areas.
Council's customer service centres will be closed from 12:00 PM on Wednesday, 24 December, reopening on Monday, 5 January 2026 at 8:30 AM.
The Trash to Treasure Tour is an annual event that takes place at the Dakabin Waste Facility. This tour usually occurs in the first week of September. It offers residents a behind-the-scenes look at how we manage waste in Moreton Bay.
Participants will get on a bus to explore the facility in comfort. During the tour, you'll learn how we contribute to a sustainable future and give items a second life at our treasure markets.
This experience will have you rethinking household waste and inspire sustainable habits in your home. Discover how to avoid, reduce, reuse, repair and recover products that could end up in landfill.
Bookings open closer to the event date.
If you've missed the tour, make sure to check out our other sustainable waste campaigns. These are held throughout the year, and we have everything from composting workshops to community recycling programs. There are plenty of opportunities to make a positive impact on the environment and help create a cleaner, greener Moreton Bay.
