Digital heritage trails

Council’s digital heritage trails showcase the region’s history and heritage on a new digital platform. The digital heritage trails include several new features such as audio narration, photos and an interactive map. Follow the story behind the Moreton Bay region’s history using a smartphone, a tablet device or a desktop computer. The Deception Bay Heritage Trail takes you back to the town's early days, when the seaside area was remote, roads were dusty and farm land was abundant.

Redcliffe Convict Trail

Queensland's first convicts and colonists arrived on the Redcliffe Peninsula in 1824, charged with the task of building Moreton Bay's first penal settlement.  Walk in their footsteps and hear their stories about Redcliffe's (and Queensland's) first European encampment.

Redcliffe Esplanade Walk

The Esplanade has always been a centre of lively fun and recreation in Redcliffe. Lined with shops, cafes, bars and boarding houses, visitors would congregate in their hundreds with ice creams melting in their hands to experience all the joyful attractions the Esplanade had to offer. Dayboro Trail

Samford Village Trial

Take a moment to step back in time to experience some of Samford's early history as revealed by this easy 1.3 kilometre stroll of the 13 sites along Main Street and just up Station Street.

North Pine Trail

This self guided tour starts at Sweeney Reserve and finishes with a drive along Dayboro Road to Old Petrie Town to continue your tour and visit the Pine Rivers Heritage Museum.

Bribie Island Walkabout

This self-guided walk starts and finishes at the Bongaree Jetty and visits 16 different sites.  The complete walk can be done in an hour or so, and can be done in two parts.

Bribie Plaques

A one hour walk covering over 200 years of history on the waterfront walkway at Bongaree on Bribie Island.  Sixteen bronze heritage plaques tell some of the fascinating events that have shaped the rich history of this 'Cradle Site of Queensland'.
