All licensed food businesses must have a food safety supervisor who is on-site or contactable while the business operates.
They need to:
Food safety supervisors must have a certificate from a registered training organisation. This applies to both category one and category two food businesses. The certificate must be renewed at least every 5 years. For details of the approved competency units, see the Food safety supervisor guidelines.
It is recommended that supervisors for businesses not covered by categories one or two get certification. This certification shows they have the necessary skills and knowledge.
Licensable food businesses must notify Council of their food safety supervisor. They must provide the name and contact details within 30 days of issuing the licence. If the supervisor changes, Council must be notified within 14 days.
Notify Council of a new supervisor or update their details
A fee is payable at the time of application, per Council's fees and charges. You can pay with Visa or Mastercard.
Current food safety supervisors can provide evidence of their qualifications by emailing Council at council@moretonbay.qld.gov.au. The email must include the licence number, trading name and address.
