Computers and technology

All our libraries have computers available for public use. These computers have Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2016, and can access the internet. Bookings are recommended.

Add $ to your account balance to pay for computer bookings or to continue printing at libraries.

Before using the library public computer systems read the terms and conditions(PDF, 340KB).

Computer bookings can be made online, in person or by phoning any of our libraries. You will need to provide your library card number or name and phone number. On busy days it may be necessary to wait.

Book a PC

Library members are eligible for one free hour internet access per day. Guests (non-library members) may use PCs for one free 15 minute internet session per day. Joining is easy and library membership is free.


  1. All data is wiped from the PC when your session ends.
  2. Save data to your own device or purchase a USB memory drive from the library at a cost of 117878 including GST.
  3. BYO headphones or purchase a disposable set from the library for 117880 including GST.

Printing, copying and scanning are available at all libraries. You can also send print jobs from home or from your personal device using web print.

Free wifi is available at all libraries within the region. 

Although it is free and has no time limit, there is a download limit of 1GB per device and is only available during library opening hours. 

General connection instructions

  1. Open your device's wireless network settings and ensure your wifi is enabled
  2. Tap on MBR Libraries
  3. Tap connect/join if prompted
  4. Your device will now be connected to the network
  5. Open your web browser (e.g. Safari or Chrome)
  6. You will be redirected to our terms and conditions acceptance page
  7. Read and accept the terms and conditions(PDF, 72KB)
  8. Begin using the wifi service.

Note that you will be automatically disconnected when you reach the 1GB download limit. 

This service is not encrypted or secured but does filter to prevent illegal or inappropriate usage.

I can't connect

  1. Speak to library staff in the first instance as your issue may be easily solved.
  2. Call Gigafy (Council's wifi provider) on 1300 733 629 for technical advice. 
  3. Refer to your manual or contact your device manufacturer if you continue to experience technical issues. 

Moreton Bay Region Libraries provide free technology training sessions. To give feedback on a session you have attended submit an evaluation form.
