Join award-winning author Amanda O'Callaghan to explore this terse, punchy writing style. Presented in conjunction with Queensland Writers Centre.

About the facilitator
Amanda O'Callaghan is an award-winning Irish-Australian writer of short stories and flash fiction. A former advertising executive, she has published and won awards in Australia, Ireland and the UK. She holds English degrees from King's College London and a PhD from the University of Queensland.
Her debut collection, This Taste for Silence, was published by University of Queensland Press (UQP) in 2019. It was shortlisted for the Readings New Australian Fiction Prize, and longlisted for the Edge Hill Prize 2020 (UK). She has been shortlisted in the Stockholm Writers Festival First Five Pages Prize for 2025. Amanda lives in Brisbane.
