Music pop-up at Bribie Island Library

Next date: Saturday, 27 June 2026 | 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM

Two men in greyscale are cut out against a technicolour background. They are playing instruments and there is kazoos floating above them.

Experience a lively pop-up music show at Bribie Island Library.

Featuring global sounds, professional musicians and a hands-on kazoo workshop, there is something for everyone.

These pop-ups are a fun and creative way to explore music and connect with your community.

Enjoy a professional performance on the People’s Vibraphone by musician Kym Ambrose. He will demonstrate how amazing this instrument can sound.

The pop-up also includes a kazoo workshop with Danslands. He will teach you a simple medley of Bee Gees songs.

Workshop participants are encouraged to bring their own kazoo. There will be several free kazoos available on a first-come, first-served basis.

About the performers

Danslands

Danny Smith is a performer, music educator (Danslands) and open mic producer. He believes in making music an accessible avenue for everyone.

Whether it's through hosting open mics to help new artists build confidence or guiding beginner musicians through the recording process, Danny is committed to creating a space where musicians are encouraged to believe and grow their abilities.

He believes that movement, rhythm, and patterns are fundamental in the early years. And that music provides a great vehicle to teach these core skills in a fun and engaging way.

Kym Ambrose

Drummer, composer, and arranger Kym Ambrose has toured extensively worldwide and is one of the best vibraphone players in Australia. His band, The View from Madeleine's Couch, sits at the pinnacle of Bossa Nova and Brazilian jazz in Australia.
