Outdoor Gallery

What is the Outdoor Gallery opportunity in 2023?

The Outdoor Gallery is artwork printed on vinyl banners and installed on community banner poles in 12 locations around the Moreton Bay Region from 22 May to 26 June 2023.

What benefits will the Outdoor Gallery offer local artists?

The Outdoor Gallery gives local artists the chance to create artwork for the public realm and to have their artwork displayed in the outdoor environment across the Moreton Bay region. The 12 locations chosen for display are in high traffic areas and will be viewed by thousands of people. This is a unique opportunity for artists to have their artwork seen by all kinds of people, even those who do not usually visit art galleries.

When the 2023 Moreton Bay Region Art Prize ends, the banners will be removed and upcycled into picnic mats to be sold in the Moreton Bay Gallery stores, giving the selected artists an opportunity to see their artwork on a product. this models a whole-of-life cycle process that ensures when temporary public art is created, sustainability is considered from the beginning as part of the process.
