Sit around the campfire, or dress up as a rural firefighter, as you ignite your curiosity for nature’s most powerful element!

Get ready for an exciting Aussie adventure at Redcliffe Museum!

Join Kylie the Kookaburra as you explore Australia’s amazing wildlife and landscapes through play, craft and discovery. Get up close to real animal and bug specimens - including a grey goshawk, brush-tailed phascogale and a koala - then put your knowledge to the test with our interactive quiz.

Next, step into a hands-on outback play space where you can:

• Relax at a cosy campsite and explore the tent with our furry friends.
• Identify animals by their scat and tracks.
• Play charades and learn the Kabi Kabi/Gubbi Gubbi words for some native animals.
• Look at insect resins and be amazed by the colours.
• Get creative with craft activities to take home your creation.
• Watch educational videos on some native animals.

Nocturnal life

Step into the magic of night at Bribie Island Seaside Museum, where young explorers discover what comes alive after dark.

Guided by Moko the Mopoke Owl, children can shine a torch on hidden animals, explore mangrove habitats, and listen to the sounds of the night. 

From crabs in the mud to owls in the trees, this hands-on space brings Bribie Island’s unique wildlife to life.

A calming night-sky storytelling zone introduces connections between stars, seasons, and Country. Designed for all ages, this interactive experience encourages curiosity, play, and respect for nature and First Nations knowledge.
