This informative talk and drawing session combines botany and art.

We’ll be joined by forester and botanical historian Dr Gary Bacon as he gives a show-and-tell of some of the native plant species present in Redcliffe at the time of first European settlement in 1824.

Some of these plants were used by First Nations people for food and medicine and offer us insight into the history of this place we now call Redcliffe.

The talk will be followed by a drawing and watercolour session inspired by botanical illustration.

One of our skilled team members will introduce participants to the practice of scientific botanical drawing. Participants will select a plant specimen to document using drawing and watercolour.

Cost $10 - bookings essential. Tea and coffee provided.

Redcliffe Art Gallery is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
