Woman in forest creating mural

Trace the edges of lines, shape and form as you connect to Country and make your mark on this place.

With language words provided by Kabi Kabi man Lyndon Davis, Munimba-ja artist and Ngugi woman Libby Harward will help you make an ephemeral ground mural using ochre and charcoal.

Trace, mark, shade and blend as you map a story on the ground. This workshop is hands on, messy and involves working on the ground.

If you have any accessibility requirements, please let us know.

Cost $25 - bookings essential.

About the artist

Libby Harward is a contemporary conceptual First Nations artist and a descendant of the Ngugi people of Quandamooka.

Her work draws from cultural and political narratives, highlighting her ancestors’ land, sea, and skies within the realities of colonised urban spaces.

Libby’s practice spans installation, video, sound, performance, and public art, often highlighting the ironies of colonisation, cultural reclamation, and caring for Country.

Through her performative installations, she exposes fragility in colonial systems and reasserts Indigenous sovereignty. Harward is also the Director of Munimba-ja Art Centre, advocating for community projects and educational initiatives that support the continuation of Indigenous knowledge.
