Saturday 16 May | Felted wall hanging workshop

Inspired by exhibitions celebrating theatre, fashion, and puppetry, this workshop invites you to create a vibrant felt wall hanging.

Using soft wool fibres, you’ll explore colour, texture, and simple felting techniques to craft a unique decorative piece.

Saturday 20 June | Tiny portals

Step into a world of imagination as you design and craft your own miniature doors.

Using wood, paint, and decorative materials, you’ll create enchanting little portals that spark wonder and whimsy. Perfect for gardens, bookshelves, or secret corners at home.

Saturday 18 July | Woven Circles

In this creative weaving workshop you will discover the calming rhythm of circular weaving as you create your own textured wall art.

Using a round loom, colourful yarns, and natural fibres, you’ll explore pattern, texture, and colour blending in a meditative, hands-on experience. Perfect to unwind while crafting something beautiful and unique.

Saturday 29 August | Mapped spaces

Using city maps as a starting point, this workshop explores how places can reflect space, memory, movement, and creativity.

Inspired by themes of identity and community, participants will use layers of line, pattern, and colour to transform maps. Through creative mapping techniques and visual layering, the workshop encourages participants to question stories within the city and how art can reimagine familiar spaces.

Saturday 19 September | Textile fruit prints

Participants will explore experimental printmaking on fabric using simple foam stamps carved from fruit forms.

Through repetition, layering and colour variation, organic shapes are transformed into abstract patterns and textile compositions. The workshop encourages playful material exploration, focusing on rhythm, texture, and surface rather than realism, and considers how everyday objects like food can become visual systems for pattern and design.

Saturday 17 October | Collective cards

Using collage, layered textures, mark-making, found imagery, and fragments of text, participants will create a collection of mixed media self-cards that explore personal expression.

Combining recycled materials, photographs, paint, symbols, and experimental creative techniques, each card becomes a unique visual composition that reflects individuality, emotion, imagination, and the experience of connecting with the world around us.

Saturday 21 November – Magnet & Make

This workshop invites participants to respond to the exhibition by creating small mixed media and/or clay forms as mini magnets.

The magnets can be repositioned in different ways, showing how visual arrangements change with context. Inspired by themes of perception and constructed truth, the workshop focuses on making and adjusting visual forms to explore how meaning can shift through different configurations.

About the facilitator

Art is a way of knowing, of understanding oneself and forming threads of connection to the inner world within each of us.

Tira Dowling has followed this thread of curiosity throughout her career. She is passionate about the relationship to self and guiding others to discover these threads of knowing within them.

Tira has explored many areas of the globe, to wonder, consider and learn about herself, other culture and the world we inhabit. As a therapist, Tira invites participants into an accepting, warm creative space to discover and witness their own creativity and lived experience.

Connection, autonomy, community, curiosity, wonder and fun are key aspects of Tira's practice. A deep seeded passion of selfhood and growth are woven in creative engagements either individual or group sessions.
