Saturday 7 June: Harmony in nature - wind chime creations

You are invited to unleash your creativity in this enchanting wind chime workshop during Make Music Month.

You’ll combine elements like driftwood, shells, feathers, and other natural treasures with colourful beads to create a stunning piece that dances and sings in the breeze.

This workshop is perfect for all skill levels and is a relaxing blend of art, nature, and mindfulness. Leave with a one-of-a-kind keepsake that brings the beauty of nature and your creativity to life.

Saturday 12 July: Faces in clay - handbuilding portrait containers

Unleash your creativity in this hands-on workshop where art meets functionality!

Design and sculpt a unique air dried clay container or cup inspired by human portraits. Whether it’s a whimsical self-portrait, a character from your imagination, or an abstract face, you’ll learn techniques to shape and detail clay, bringing your ideas to life.

This session offers a fun, relaxed environment to explore your artistic side. Perfect for beginners and experienced creators.

Saturday 23 August: Paper to paint - watercolour inspired by collage

Blend the tactile world of collage with the fluid beauty of watercolor.

We’ll explore how unexpected combinations of items can spark imaginative compositions and guide expressive brushwork. This workshop uses found images, textures, and paper fragments as our jumping-off point.

Participants will begin by assembling visual collages - abstract or representational -and then translate these into vibrant watercolor paintings. Perfect for artists of all levels who are curious about mixing media, loosening creative habits, and letting intuition lead the way.

Saturday 6 September: Colorful harvest - gouache and clay creations

Participants will explore the beauty of fruits and vegetables through two expressive mediums: Painting with gouache and sculpting with clay.

We’ll begin by observing fresh produce for inspiration, then dive into bold brushwork and textured form-making.

Whether you're a beginner or seasoned creative, this workshop offers a fun, relaxed space to celebrate everyday beauty and expand your artistic skills.

Saturday 11 October: Held by thread - a contemporary couching experience

This hands-on workshop reimagines the traditional technique of couching as a bold, modern art form.

Counching is a process where threads are laid on the surface and secured with delicate stitches.

In this workshop, you'll experiment with striking lines, layered textures, and dynamic compositions using vibrant yarns, threads, and unconventional materials.

This session is perfect for beginners. It invites you to slow down, experiment, and let your needle draw freely across the fabric.

About the facilitator

Art is a way of knowing, of understanding oneself and forming threads of connection to the inner world within each of us.

Tira Dowling has followed this thread of curiosity throughout her career. She is passionate about the relationship to self and guiding others to discover these threads of knowing within them.

Tira has explored many areas of the globe, to wonder, consider and learn about herself, other culture and the world we inhabit. As a therapist, Tira invites participants into an accepting, warm creative space to discover and witness their own creativity and lived experience.

Connection, autonomy, community, curiosity, wonder and fun are key aspects of Tira's practice. A deep seeded passion of selfhood and growth are woven in creative engagements either individual or group sessions.
