History of lacemaking

Lacemaking has a rich history and is believed to have started in Europe in the 16th century. Various regions and cultures developed their unique styles and lacemaking  traditions over time.

Today, lacemaking continues to be a traditional art form. It is a relatively cheap and creative hobby, with modern lacemakers incorporating new fibres and techniques.

The museum is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
