Future dreaming: Creative space

What future do you want to live in? What does daily life look, smell, sound, and feel like? What tools will you need there?

Explore, dream, and speculate about our shared planet in the year 3000. Artist Merinda Davies has created a future-focused creative space. You are invited to dream up radical imaginations of the future so you can transform the present.

Be inspired by Merinda’s exhibition, Earth Refuge, which encourages us to consider our planet's future through close observation and conversation with the environment. Then, let your imagination run wild in the free drop-in creative space.

In Future Dreaming, you’re invited to:

Draw, write, or create a map of the future you want to inhabit.
Envision preposterous, possible, and preferable futures (and everything in between!)
Ask big questions like, "What if worlds we didn't think were possible ... are?" and see what answers you come up with.
Identify your future world toolkit and ask yourself what objects, rituals or ideas you’ll need to navigate the future world.
Pick up an activity sheet to guide you through the exhibition.
Flick through a book in our reading nook.
