Looking for a safe, social space for teens? Love art or want to try something new?

Art Teens is a monthly after-hours art event for young people aged 12–17 years at Pine Rivers Art Gallery.

This event offers specially tailored programming that connects young people to art and artists at Pine Rivers Art Gallery. It includes a drop-in workshop, opportunity for self-guided making (materials provided), and connecting with new and old friends.

This regular event is an inclusive, parent-free space that welcomes you to hang out, have a snack, and have a good time at Pine Rivers Art Gallery.

Light snacks are served at this event. Please specify any dietary requirements or allergies via the booking portal.

April 15: Metal Embossing

Work with soft embossing aluminium to craft a shadow‑box style frame featuring your own textured tin artwork.

May 13: Junk Journaling

Discover how everyday objects can spark creativity. Learn the art of upcycling as you build a junk journal using an eclectic mix of reclaimed materials.

June 10: People & Places

Drawing inspiration from the people and places showcased in the Moreton Bay Art Prize, this session encourages you to sketch, sculpt, or photograph a subject of your choice.

July 8: Whimsical Watercolours

Experiment with a variety of watercolour techniques in a relaxed, social setting. Try wet and dry applications, wax resist, and playful chemical reactions to create truly whimsical artworks.

Parent and guardian information

Art Teens is strictly for teens aged 12-17 years. You may be required to present an acceptable proof of age ID to enter the event.

Pine Rivers Art Gallery is closed to the general public during this event, with registered attendees in attendance only.

This event is a parent/guardian free event. Gallery staff will be available to support attendees and supervise the event. If a parent, guardian or adult carer needs to accompany a teen for accessibility reasons, they are welcome to do so.

If attendees wish to leave the event before 5:45 PM, they will need to check out by confirming their transportation plans with Gallery staff.

Participation and content

Teens are welcome to attend with a friend, in a group, or solo.

Each event will include an art workshop and tour of the current exhibition which are optional to participate in.

Everyone is welcome at Pine Rivers Art Gallery. We aim to provide inclusive and accessible experiences for all who visit the gallery. The Gallery has a dedicated Quiet Room available to visitors during their visit.

Pine Rivers Art Gallery is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
