Join them in the gallery to gain a deeper understanding of the ways art considers our relationship with the environment.

Program

  • 10:45 AM: Joe Furlonger is one of Australia's most respected landscape painters. He is renowned for his large-scale paintings that capture the changing nature of landscapes through seasons and weather. In the artworks on display, Darling Downs and After the Cotton Harvest, Furlonger examines how agriculture has physically altered the Australian landscape.
  • 11:45 AM: Dr Kaya Barry is an artist and geographer. She is interested in how weather, migration and mobility influence how people live in place and pay attention to their environment. In the exhibition, a selection of photographs from her Seasonal series showcases the important work that migrant workers have in the Australian agricultural industy.

These artist talks are part of the Plant-A-Palooza event - a day to discover and learn about gardening and connecting to the natural world.

Free - no bookings required. All ages.
