Art Kids - Caboolture Regional Art Gallery

Keep your children’s creativity growing by joining us at Caboolture Regional Art Gallery to explore new ideas, techniques, and make new friends.

These sessions are perfect to get young artists thinking, growing and learning in a relaxed environment, led by the gallery team.

The program is suitable for all abilities aged 6-12 years. When booking, choose individual sessions at $5 each or all three classes in a series for a discounted price of $4 a class.

Parents are welcome to join in or relax in the studio space. All children must be accompanied by an adult during their visit. Places limited, bookings essential.

Wednesday 18 March | Tracing the trees

Do you have a favourite tree - maybe in your garden, at your local park or a particular street tree that you see on your way around town?

Taking our cues from the vibrant artworks of Yield artist Fernando do Campo and our local area, we'll make artworks that explore and celebrate the spectacular and diverse shapes of trees.

Term 1's Art Kids is inspired by Yield.

Wednesday 13 May | Eye Spy zine

Inspired by the classic Scholastic Eye Spy books, you will create your own Eye Spy book from magazine cut outs and write your own cryptic clues. Once complete, we will compile them into a booklet and try to solve each other’s puzzles.

Wednesday 27 May | Paper sea friends

Single use plastics are harmful to the water ways; they impact the sea life and pollute the water. How can we reuse a single use item and turn it into a creative object? In this workshop, we will transform a paper plate into different ocean friends.

Wednesday 10 June | Tiny homes

In the Like yesterday exhibition aritst Anna Carey creates miniature sculptures of different infrastructure. In this workshop, we will be inspired by Carey's work and use familiar materials to create our own fantastical tiny homes.

Term 2's Art Kids is inspired by Like yesterday.
