Bribie Island Seaside Museum school excursions
Visit Bribie Island Seaside Museum and take your students back in time.
Prep to Year 2 students are invited to learn about what Bribie Island was like in their parents/grandparents/great-grandparents eras and get hands-on exploring and comparing technological changes in communication, as well as play some fun games of times past.
Years 3 to 6 are invited to come and experience life during WWII on Bribie Island. They will see what it was like to be stationed on Bribie Island, explore the reasons that people enlisted, discover what soldiers ate, and learn the secrets of morse code.
These programs are linked to Prep to Year 6 Australian Curriculum and involve learning through resources and hands-on experiences.
This is a FREE, customisable, up to two-hour program which enables school groups to combine their visit to the museum with a self-guided heritage walk around Bongaree, a walk along the beach, or a visit to the Butterfly House.
There are shaded park areas beside and behind the museum which can be used for picnic lunch.
