Join in hands-on activities with the talented UQ Science Demo Troupe at Redcliffe Museum's opening event for the Da Vinci Machines exhibition.
There’s fun for the whole family from 3:30 PM with the troupe from the University of Queensland as you discover answers to questions such as "How do clouds form?" and "Why do liquids separate?"
Explore the demonstrations:
- Gyroscopes
- Whirly tubes
- Eddy currents
- Holograms
- Density beads
- Dropper poppers.
After you’ve had your fill of science concepts, find out more about our highly interactive Da Vinci Machines: Inventions brought to life exhibition. It showcases Da Vinci's most iconic inventions, meticulously constructed from his original sketches.
Guest speaker
From 5:00 PM, Tom Rizzo, the Director of Exhibitions at Artisans of Florence, shares behind-the-scenes insight into the development and creation of these remarkable replica pieces.
This spectacular exhibition is on tour from the Museum of Leonardo da Vinci in Florence, Italy. It is a special, one-of-a-kind opportunity to be hands-on and learn about the fascinating world of the Renaissance period and Leonardo da Vinci’s many creations.
