Robert Brownhall: Tales of the Peninsula

Image of artwork by Robert Brownhall

Brownhall’s keen eye pays close attention to that which is often passed by. Preferring to work from his drawings and memory, rather than photographs, his work evokes the familiar, and yet is intentionally dream-like. The exhibition will feature new paintings and drawings, supported by selected earlier works.

“Robert Brownhall is a realist painter inspired by his local environment. In more than 20 years of painting he has developed a unique, quirky style and a bird’s-eye view of scenes, characterised by a strong connection to place, moody nocturnes, broad sweep panoramas and gritty vignettes of urban life.” - Louise Martin-Chew, Australian Stories.

Exhibition developed by Moreton Bay Regional Council.
