Plant Protective Equipment workshop at Redcliffe Art Gallery

Join us for a creative workshop that blends nature and lets your imagination take the lead.

Multidisciplinary artist David Spooner is interested in plants as transformers. From seed to sprout, leaf to flower, plants constantly change form. In this workshop, that idea comes to life through artmaking and storytelling.

You'll begin by creating your own Plant Protective Equipment (PPE) using your initials.

Take the first letter of your first name and choose an animal. Then use the first letter of your surname and pair it with a plant. For example, DS might become Dolphin Sunflower.

Using large cut-outs, you'll design a shield mask, or piece of body armour inspired by your new mythical name. Add symbols, patterns, shapes, or colourful camouflage. There's no right or wrong way to create.

This workshop is about experimentation, imagination, and having fun!
