Kids workshop: The art of play - drawing as performance

Next date: Friday, 15 January 2027 | 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM

Step into a world of imagination, movement and creativity in this energetic workshop inspired by Joe Furlonger’s vibrant artistic practice.

Young artists will explore a series of playful drawing games, collaborative activities and creative challenges influenced by theatre, circus and improvisation.

Through movement, storytelling and spontaneous mark-making, participants will respond to each other’s ideas. They will experiment with new ways of working and uncover unexpected paths to creativity. Inspired by the excitement and energy of the big top, they’ll discover how play, collaboration and creative risk-taking can spark fresh artistic ideas.

There’s no pressure to create a finished masterpiece. This workshop celebrates curiosity, imagination and the joy of making together. It invites young creatives to draw, perform, explore and express themselves in a fun and supportive environment.

Pine Rivers Art Gallery is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
