Kids workshop: Flipbook funhouse

Next date: Saturday, 23 January 2027 | 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM

Bring drawings to life in this fun and creative flipbook workshop.

Inspired by the vibrant world of current exhibition Circus, young artists will discover how to capture movement and action through this classic technique.

Exploring the dazzling performers, lively spectacles and colourful scenes depicted in Joe Furlonger’s circus artworks, participants will learn the secrets behind one of the earliest forms of animation: The flipbook. Through a series of simple, engaging drawing exercises, they’ll create their own animated sequence. It turns a collection of images into a moving story with the flick of a thumb.

Perfect for curious creatives, this hands-on workshop combines art, storytelling and animation to reveal the magic of movement on the page.

Pine Rivers Art Gallery is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
