How do artist’s see?

Artist’s do not always draw, paint or even sculpt exactly what they see! Sometimes they use their emotions and feelings to let them guide their process.

Bridie Gillman is a painter. She uses oil paint as well as pastels to make her paintings. She likes to re-imagine the world around her and often paints everyday objects in different and abstract ways. Bridie won the Moreton Bay Region Art Award in 2019 with her work Some kind of growth and it is now a part of Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Art Collection.

What feelings do you think Bridie is painting in her artwork, Some kind of growth?

Now you can create an artwork from your feelings. Download the activity sheet to get started.
